Could you explain what is involved with a Hairdressing appointment?

Each appointment has a time-slot of 20 minutes. We ask that you arrive promptly, as if you arrive late, it can have a knock-on effect for the next appointment (and so on). Our hairdressers will secure the child on the chair and cover them with a cape. We use a natural detangling spray and water to wet the hair before we cut. If the child is very young or will not sit on their own they can sit on a parents knee, as long as they are held upright to ensure an even cut. There is a tropical fish tank to look at and help distract them but unfortunately we are not able to provide toys or books at this time. We finish every cut with a blow dry and children are given a sticker and chocolate gold coin (if you agree).

This is my child’s first haircut, do you offer a special service for this?

Yes we do! A first haircut is a moment to remember at Trotters! We offer the same service as above and include a certificate and a lock of hair as a keepsake. When you book, please make sure you book for a ‘first haircut’ so we can prepare the certificate for you in advance.


How much are the haircuts and do you have different levels of service?

All our haircuts are charged at a rate of £22. We do not offer pricing tiered by age or hairstyle. If you only require a fringe trim this is chargeable at £9. If you require a longer appointment, please call the Store where you are booking and speak with one of our helpful team members who will explain how to book an extended appointment. 

How do I book a hairdressing appointment?

 

You can book your appointment online. On our hairdressing page you can select your chosen store, day and time and if you have a preferred hairdresser, you can also request to be seen by them. Click here for stores location and contact information.

What age are your hairdressing appointments suitable for?

We recommend our hairdressing appointments from newborn babies and up. We don’t have an upper age limit, so if your child is still happy to visit us then we’ll be more than happy to cut their hair!

I have twins / siblings, can they be booked at the same time?

You can book two appointments in one booking, however please double check if you have booked them consecutively or at the same time. Due to Covid-19 restrictions we often only have one hairdresser at one time at the moment, so two appointments at the same time won’t always be available.

Do you wash and blow dry?

We don’t wash the child’s hair but we do wet it with a water spray. All haircuts are finished with a blow dry.

I think my child just needs a fringe-trim, do we still have to pay for the full service?

No, please book a ‘Fringe trim’ when you book your appointment online. This appointment cannot be used for a general trim or a infant haircut. This service only includes a fringe trim.

What products do you use?

All our hairdressers use the Original Sprout range of products. If you wish to finish with a particular style, they can add some gel or balm. All Original Sproutproducts are natural and brush out easily so there’s nothing to worry about.

Do you offer drop-in appointments?

We always endeavour to accommodate drop-in appointments, however, to avoid disappointment, we recommend making an appointment online.

Do you accommodate additional needs children?

Yes we do. Please call the store and we will be able to discuss this with you further.

What do you recommend if my child has head lice?

If you already have an appointment booked, please cancel it and don’t rebook until the live lice or eggs are all clear. Treat head lice as soon as you spot them, check everyone in the house and start treating anyone who has head lice on the same day.

I’m running late, will you still be able to fit me in?

We will do our best however, we ask that you call the store to inform them that you’ll be late as soon as possible. We may need to move your appointment to a different slot at a later time or during busy periods, on a different day. If you arrive late and we cannot complete you appointment you will be charged, so it is important you arrive on time for scheduled appointments.
